As the 4-year anniversary approaches of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, we'll take a look at the situation on the ground, in detention centers, in Congress, and at home.... We'll also look at the possibility of the U.S. invasion of Iran...

Nir Rosen, journalist who's spent years in Iraq since the invasion began.

Roger Morris, historian and investigative journalist who served on the National Security Council Staff under Presidents Johnson and Nixon, and author of "Shadows of the Eagle," a history of American policy and covert interventions in the Middle East and South Asia.

In our First Hour...
On this week's Sunday Salon, we will be focusing on California's recent Health Care proposals with Deborah Berger, President of California Nurses Association and Jessica Rothhaar an Organizer with Health Access Foundation.
We'll also hear about an event titled, Grassroots, Nonviolent Resistance in Palestine with keynote speakers, Mohammed Khatib and Feryal Abu Haikal who live in threatened communities by the Israeli military and settlers. They will speak of their personal experiences mobilizing their communities to nonviolently resist these measures.

KPFA Reporter and author ("How America Lost Iraq"), Aaron Glantz will be sitting in for Larry Bensky. In the first hour...Glantz, who spent six months reporting from Iraq after the U.S. invasion, has recently been investigating incidents of U.S. soldiers returning from Iraq with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.  He'll be joined by Penny Coleman, author of "Flashback: Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Suicide, and the Lessons of War" (Beacon).

The Bay Area's Asian American population celebrates the Lunar New Year, commonly referred to as Chinese New Year. We'll discuss the history of the celebration in the United States and the Bay Area, the tradition and what carries over from celebrations in Asian countries to Asian American celebrations.Guests:William Poy Lee is a Berkeley-based attorney, and author of the new book "The Eighth Promise: An American Son's Tribut.

In our First Hour

It's been 18 months since Hurricanes Katrina and Rita devastated the Gulf Coast.  Hundreds of thousands of people were driven from their homes, many of them to other parts of the country...

Now, people the vast majority of them people of color are barred from returning to their homes in New Orleans, and the federal government continues to fail or to opt not to pick up the pieces.

Cornelius Washington, former New Orleans resident, who evacuated to the Bay Area and is now based in San Francisco
Tracie Lee Washington, Attorney, and Director of the NAACP Gulf Coast Advocacy Center
